EXPANSION SHEET PLATED ALUMINUM PISTON

Steel plates and heat rings are used for deformations caused by heat in aluminum pistons. The main task of these products is to prevent the piston from expanding. Since the thermal expansion coefficient of steel is lower than aluminum, the expansion of the piston is prevented by this method. The steel plates are placed between the skirt and pin area before casting and form the control elements together with the light alloy surrounding them. Steel plates and heat rings reduce the thermal expansion of the piston in a critical direction.

Thus, this method combines the high strength of the aluminum piston with the advantages of the steel plate.
