MONOSTEEL PISTON (MONOTERM PISTON)

By combining monosteel piston technology, piston head and skirt using an innovative friction welding method, a breakthrough technology has been developed with high power, increased cooling performance and maximum durability. The induction welded design with a burning pressure of 250 bar and above reveals low weight steel pistons for the middle-class diesel category.

Monosteel Piston Advantages:

- Monosteel Piston was awarded the Automotive News PACE Award in 2006.

- It has maximum load carrying capacity and minimum deformation.

- The one-piece structure of the piston due to friction does not require assembly.

- Thanks to the improved wide cooling channel, the combustion chamber and piston rings are cooled much more efficiently, thereby preventing blowing and oil leaks due to the deformation of the ring grooves.

- EPA10 and Euro 6 engines have superior power and cooling capability to meet combustion chamber pressure and temperature demands.

- Full length skirt design has been developed for fixed piston dynamics, which reduces the cavitation risk and increases the ring sealing.

- The process allows flexible material use with combustion chamber material options and/or skirt material options that will reduce rust or oxidation.
