MOON BEARING
Moon bearings are especially positioned bearing elements depending on the engine design. They are bearings used to control the end clearance in the crankshaft. If this end clearance is installed more than enough or if the bearings are broken, crankshaft movement will increase in the block. As a result of this movement, the main bearing area and engine block can be damaged. Excessively clearance mounting can additionally cause the connecting rods to become fatigued and consequently broken. Moon bearings are usually located in the middle or behind the main bearing. It can be mounted with the main bearing or it can be located independently from the main bearing.
